SMockery FAQs
Who comes up with the design concepts?
All SMockery design concepts are dreamed up by our founder, Jordan—an avid (though not always flawless) home baker whose kitchen experiments inspired the playful spirit behind our brand. After a coworker gifted her sourdough starter… twice, Jordan’s starter quickly became her “child,” sparking a love for all things flour-covered and fermentation-filled.
Every quirky idea, pun, and bakery-themed illustration begins with her real-life baking mishaps, wandering mind, sourdough obsession, and love for creating apparel that makes fellow millennial bakers smile. That spark of authenticity is then brought to life by our talented real-human artists—not AI or clipart—so each piece feels personal, relatable, and delightfully homemade.
When are new designs released?
For the earliest access, join our email list (at the bottom of our webpage!). Subscribers get pre-release updates, sneak peeks, and first dibs on new product launches before they hit the shop.
At SMockery, we release new designs at least once a month—so be sure to check back frequently for fresh, bakery-inspired apparel and accessories. Our collections are always evolving, and you never know when your new favorite sourdough or baking-themed design will drop!
Because all of our artwork is created by real artists—not AI or clipart—some designs take a little extra time to perfect. But that human touch is what makes each piece so special, unique, and absolutely worth the wait.
What’s the “BIG 5” you keep mentioning?
At SMockery, every design concept starts with our small-but-mighty team and our commitment to human creativity. We believe that art should come from real people—not AI, not clipart, and not mass-produced templates. That’s why every illustration is created by actual artists who bring heart, humor, and originality to each piece.
Our “BIG 5” values guide every step:
- Original design concepts you won’t find anywhere else
- Real-human artists who handcraft each idea
- USA-printed apparel
- USA-shipped from our small business
- 10% of profits donated to a Christian charity or non-profit that supports
its local community
In an e-commerce world full of giants, SMockery proudly stands as the David against Goliath—a small business championing authenticity, artistry, and purpose-driven apparel that speaks to millennial women who love baking, humor, and supporting creators.
Every design begins with us, but it ends with you—the bakers, the makers, and the women (and men!) who appreciate apparel that’s just as warm and original as a fresh loaf coming out of the oven.
Why choose Christian charities and non-profits?
SMockery donates to Christian charities and non-profits because giving back is woven into the heart of our brand. Our founder is a Christian, and her faith shapes the way we approach business—with gratitude, stewardship, and a desire to serve others well.
We intentionally seek out Christian organizations that provide real, “boots-on-the-ground” support in their local communities. These are groups actively feeding families, helping neighbors in need, and showing love through action, not just words. When you shop with us, you’re helping strengthen those hands-on efforts.
Our purpose is rooted in 1 Peter 4:10:
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards
of God's varied grace.”
By supporting SMockery, you’re not only choosing artist-made, USA-printed apparel—you’re joining us in living out that calling by helping real people in real communities.
Why have a USA limitation on your apparel and merchandise production?
SMockery chooses to keep our apparel and merchandise USA-printed and USA-shipped because supporting local is one of our core values. Our founder is American, and from day one, she’s believed in building a brand that invests back into the communities and workers closest to home.
By manufacturing here in the United States, we proudly uphold our “BIG 5” promise, which includes ensuring every item is USA-printed and USA-shipped. While this choice means we take on higher production costs, it also guarantees that the skilled workers creating your orders are paid fairly and work in trustworthy conditions.
For us, small business isn’t just a label—it's a commitment to staying rooted, intentional, and close to home. Choosing USA-based production allows us to support local jobs, maintain high quality, and keep SMockery’s values aligned with the bakers, makers, and customers who care about where their products come from.
Why are 3x and 4x sizes more expensive?
At SMockery, we believe in being upfront about pricing—especially because we serve a community that values honesty and purpose-driven shopping. Our supplier charges an additional $5 for 3X and 4X sizes, which is a standard industry practice due to higher material and production costs.
It’s important to know that SMockery does not make extra profit on these sizes. We simply pass along the supplier’s exact increase so we can keep our pricing fair and consistent for everyone.
By adding only the supplier’s $5 difference, we’re able to continue maximizing our 10% profit donation to Christian charities and non-profits—organizations that provide meaningful, local, “boots-on-the-ground” support to their communities.
In short: the price difference comes from our supplier, not from us—and it allows us to stay true to our mission of giving back while offering inclusive sizing for all bakers and sourdough lovers.
Who are your artists?
Our artists are real people with a genuine gift for creating digital art—not AI generators or clipart programs. Every design you see at SMockery is handcrafted by talented individuals 18 years and older, each bringing their own creativity, personality, and life experience to the artwork.
Many of our artists are everyday people just like you: moms, dads, students, teachers, coaches, and creators who love turning ideas into something fun, clever, and beautifully wearable. All of them live right here in the United States, supporting local talent and American-made artistry.
SMockery proudly partners with multiple artists, because while we maintain a clear, cohesive brand aesthetic, we also adore the subtle differences each artist brings to the table. As you browse our collections, you might start to notice those unique touches—
Can you spot the differences between their styles?
I’m a digital artist! Are you looking for more artists?
Absolutely—SMockery loves discovering new talent! While we do have a few core artists we work with regularly, we’re always excited to meet creative people who share our love for digital art, humor, and the home-baking world.
If you’re interested in working with us, simply fill out the contact form below and let us know you’d like to be considered as a future SMockery artist. To help us get to know your style, please include a link to your Instagram, social media or online portfolio, or have sample files ready to share when we reply.
Just a quick note: we’re a small business, and as much as we’d love to bring every talented artist on board, we aren’t able to hire everyone who reaches out. Still—we can’t wait to see what you create!
Do you sell internationally or ship to other countries? I love your merch! But I live outside the United States.
SMockery is a small business that’s growing quickly and always striving to meet the passion, humor, and creativity of bakers everywhere. While we’d love to serve customers around the globe, international shipping isn’t available just yet.
However, expanding beyond the U.S. is definitely something we’re considering for the future as our business continues to grow. For our current customers: don’t worry! While the packages would be sent internationally, they’ll always remain USA-printed and designed!
If you’re excited to shop with us someday, be sure to check back often or join our mailing list for updates on new products, design drops, and any future announcements about international shipping options!
